Architect Narek Minassian presented the preliminary sketch project for the NCA Metro Performing Arts Centre during this remote workshop on inclusivity in architecture and art education. The centre's architectural solutions are set to make it the first fully accessible structure in Armenia, so that persons with disabilities can take part easily, both in the audience and as performing artists on stage.
He presented the project's core principles and preliminary architectural and design concepts, all rooted in inclusivity. British architect-consultants and workshop participants gave feedback and suggestions to refine the design.
In 2022, Phase 1, the NCA Inclusive Training Centre for Performing Arts, was completed and opened its doors to people of all backgrounds, who can explore contemporary dance and physical theatre with the crew of the NCA Small Theatre.
